About Merrill

Merrill was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He served an LDS mission in England and received his Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of Utah. After graduating with an MBA from Harvard Business School, he went on to serve as a financial management consultant with Arthur D. Little, Inc. He became president and CEO of Cook Slurry Company, a very successful mining explosives business, while building his reputation as Utah's number one grassroots activist, leading the campaigns for Tax Limitation, Sales Tax on Food Removal, and Term Limitation. He served as Utah's 2nd District Congressman for two terms, and was the Utah Co-Chairman of the Bush for President Campaign in 2000. Merrill is married to Camille Sanders Cook. They have five children and five grandchildren.
